Merry Christmas!

It's about 10:30 or so here, and we've been having quite an adventurous night. ^-^ I decided to go ahead and hang some Christmasy lights. Man, did the kitties go bonkers! I had TWO cats scampering all around the house, rolling up rugs, pouncing on light strings, and leaping and dashing about. Oi. Josie was just as bad as Finneas! ^-^ Between the two of them cavorting it's amazing we didn't all three go crashing down at some point. LOL! It was pretty hilarious.

BUT, we now have lights hanging in the living room and two bedrooms. The really funny thing though is they're not even Christmas lights. D'oh! I pulled out my box of decorations this afternoon, opened it up, and it was EMPTY. Well, the three stockings were in there, but that was all. Rats! Last year at this time I was packing, packing, packing cause when I came down to Cheryl's for Christmas I came from Chicago in a big moving truck with all my stuff! I'm guessing that I must have just taken down the decorations in Chicago and packed them in whatever box was open at the moment instead of putting them all together in the same box I've been using for my Christmas decorations for about 25 years now. LOL! Oh well, I'm sure they will all turn up once I get around to unpacking all my boxes for real and setting up the whole house. Everything in its own time.

Anyways, Cheryl came over to bring me my birthday gnome (he's cool!) and Eclipse (look out now!) and when I showed her my empty Christmas decoration box she reminded me that I'd bought a bunch of funny decorative lights several months back to use sometime on the porch when it's finally done. I have chili pepper lights, barn lantern lights, green ivy with little white lights, and some sombreros and cactus lights. LOL! So I put my three stockings on the fire place mantle to anchor the Christmas theme, and then I used a bunch of the silly lights around the house, to Josie & Finn's Great Delight. It actually doesn't look bad. In the daytime you'll see they're not Christmas lights, but at night with the house dark except for the decorative lights lit up, they look really nice! Who'd have thunk it?

So it is officially Christmas now at my house. Stockings hung, fireplace lit, lights twinkling, music wafting, Christmas. Gasp) We're gonna forgo a tree this year though. Poor Finneas I know would just not be able to control himself. LOL! I suppose I could just lay it down on its side and be done with it, but the needles would be everywhere I think, major cleanup required. LOL! No, we'll just wait a year on the tree I think. And maybe ask Santa to bring Finn an extra dose of self-control this year for Christmas to go with his toys. LOL!
