Far Flung Friends

You know, as the years go by I seem to end up farther and farther away from my closest friends. Now usually it has more to do with me and my gypsy ways than anything else (I do have a habit of loading up the wagon and rolling on to greener pastures every 6 or 7 years or so,) but it's not always me moving away, sometimes they're the ones picking up and moving on. I've also been lucky enough to meet some wonderful people when I was wandering far from home, and with these friends we just start off at a distance. And then sometimes it's a combination of the two that takes somebody far away. Case in point, Laura!

Laura is one of several good friends I met some 4 years ago in New Zealand where we were all having a grand time on a tour. She was (well is actually) from Deal in Jolly Ol' England, but a little over a month ago, she and her squeeze Ville moved to Brisbane in Queensland Australia, very far away. Now I've never been to Brisbane, but I found this way cool website Our Brisbane, and all I can say is what a great time to be alive!

Ten years ago staying in touch with friends so far away would have been a challenge, but these days it's a snap, and not only can you stay in touch, you can learn all sorts of things about where ever your friends are calling Home. Brisbane is home now for Laura and Ville, and it looks to me like a pretty great place to be. So, Laura, if you're reading this, congratulations on landing Down Under. Have a wonderful time setting up your new hobbit hole! Your friends will be looking forward to hearing all about it. Happy

Lots of love!
